Title: We matter too (temporary)

Characters:

  • Jake (kid)

  • Jake (college)

  • Extra characters: (parents, haters, friends or classmates)

Setting:

The story is told in a modern era, around 2019 to 2023 or further. It is set in this specific year as this is the time phase that the MMA course is being introduced. In order to promote MMA, the group has chosen the current setting to be more relevant for the rest of the aspiring MMA takers.

Synopsis/Story:

A wonderful and successful family has introduced their recently new addition to their list of children. Jake’s kuyas and ates are all aspiring doctors, lawyers, engineers, and surgeons so the pressure on Jake to take similar professions is harsh. When Jake exhibits his interest for Art, his family is a little concerned and tries to discourage the young boy during his early journey until he reaches his senior high phase, taking STEM. Nevertheless, Jake never lost his creative side and continues to admire arts secretly. He then learns about the MMA course in college as he finishes senior highschool and debates whether he should listen to his family’s advice or follow his passion and reach for his dreams.

Techniques to use and how to implement it:

INTERESTING CHARACTER

EMOTION

PROMISE SPECIFIC BENEFITS

Our group intends to use three of the advertising techniques which are, Interesting Character, Emotion and Promise specific benefits. We want to make this project use different kinds of advertising techniques and at the same time promote the multimedia arts by creating a poster and an advertisement commercial. For the Interesting Character technique we use a child as the main character of our poster and commercial ads. Why do we use a child in promoting multimedia arts? We want to tell the audience that development in a person starts when you’re just a small child, this is the time where people shape themselves in order to be the ideal person they want to be. Also we want to make the audience realize that it’s more important to let a child do what he or she wants as long as he or she is not a threat to everyone including to his or herselves. Second technique that we used is emotion, we wanted to show a tag line in the poster and video ads saying “ follow your passion “ which is a strong word that persuades a certain person to follow what he or she dreams and do what he or she loves to attain happiness and fulfillment in life. Lastly, we're going to use Promise specific benefits techniques by showing the audience the possible career opportunities when a person chooses Multimedia arts as his or her major in college. We want to tell the audiences that there’s a lot of things to explore in Multimedia arts despite facing some discrimination. Also, Multimedia Arts is in demand around the world and we want to persuade students or young people to have the courage to take this course and disregard toxic stereotypes. Doing what you love will lead you to greatness and happiness.
